SHE Choir Birmingham is a community choir for people who identify as female, non-binary people or gender non-confirming based in central Birmingham.
Singing original arrangements of pop, rock, indie, R&B and more, the network of SHE Choirs is run by its members and represents a space to build your creativity and confidence (as well as make some lovely new friends).
Choir is good for you!
Singing in a choir is really fun, good for your mental health and a lovely way to meet new people and learn new things.
Our choir is free to attend, and operates on a non-pressured, drop-in basis. We are also audition-free… if you can sing in the shower, you can sing in SHE Choir! We aim to create a safe learning environment for anyone who wants to join in.
Get involved!
We aspire to grow and love welcoming new members.
As a collaborative choir, our members get involved in all aspects - from arranging songs, organising and conducting at rehearsals, planning events and gigs.
We welcome any level of involvement if you are interested in helping – and if you just want to come along and sing that's great as well. We are a free choir, with no membership required.

JOIN A REHEARSAL...
We rehearse weekly on Tuesdays at the Friends of the Earth Space in Digbeth, Birmingham.
Friends of the Earth, The Warehouse, 54-57 Allison St, Birmingham B5 5TH
Rehearsals run from 6.30 – 8.15pm. You are welcome to arrive from 6pm if you want to have a chat!
Please make sure you get in touch before coming along to a rehearsal, so that we know to expect you and can send you more details on finding the venue.
To cover our venue costs, we ask members to contribute £2.50 per rehearsal, or £10 per month. This can be paid via a weekly or monthly standing order, or with weekly one-off payments on a drop-in basis. New members have a 2 week trial ahead after which payments will begin.
If you are interested in joining or have any questions, email us at shechoirbrum@gmail.com or send us a message on social media.
Access
ACCESS:
The venue is just next to the city centre, and there is parking nearby. There are also 2 train stations, various bus routes and bike racks nearby. There is usually a group who walk back into the city centre after rehearsal, if you would like to walk with or be guided by others. You can ask the choir leader or another member about this, and we can link you up with people who are going the same direction as you.
We meet in a room that is accessible by platform lift, and there is an accessible toilet available. Let us know if you’d like a member of the choir to come down and meet you - to open doors for you or guide you as needed.
When we are singing we tend to stand up, but some of our members prefer to sit down - you are welcome to take a seat throughout the rehearsal if better for you.
We meet in a meeting room. There is a quieter meeting room next to it and a small kitchen, if you need a quiet moment during a rehearsal.
During sessions, we view lyrics on our phones via a shared google drive. If you need to access the lyrics in a specific way for example in large print, please let us know.
If you are interested in coming along and have any access needs, please feel free to reach out to us to discuss or ask questions, or let us know if there’s anything we can do to support you.
