Moin and welcome to SHE Choir Hamburg
We are a feminist FLINTA* choir for everyone who enjoys singing. True to the motto "If you can sing in the shower, you can sing in a choir", nobody has to audition with us, you can just join in. Having fun and trying things out together are the most important things for us. We are part of the international SHE Choir network. The first SHE Choir was founded in Manchester (UK) in 2010. The name comes from the initials of the three founders Susie, Hannah and Ellie. There are now choirs in England, New Zealand and Germany that regularly exchange ideas, visit each other and, of course, sing together.
About us
The Hamburg choir was founded in 2024. For us, participating doesn't necessarily just mean singing: SHE Choir is a community-led choir. This means that each member can also arrange songs, lead rehearsals and take on other tasks. We sing songs that we like. Often from the pop, indie, rock or R&B genres. For learning we use the call and response principle. This means that there is no sheet music and you don't need any knowledge of music theory to join us.

We meet every Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm at Kultur&Gut in Hamburg-Altona. Write to us at shechoirhh@gmail.com and come along. All FLINTA* people are welcome to join us. We look forward to see you. In order to open our space to as many FLINTA* people as possible, we communicate in German and English.
Costs: SHE Choir is basically free of charge, but we currently pay €10 per person and month for our rehearsal room. If you can't afford this amount please join anyway - we will find a solution!
