Kicking off Pride Weekend at Refuge #comeasyouare #ManchesterPride

This Friday we had the pleasure of opening the Refuge’s Come As You Are Pride Weekend events. Our dress theme, naturally, was rainbow! We had great fun singing some of our new repertoire like our Whitney Houston mash-up as well as some old favourites like Chaka Khan’s Ain’t Nobody.

We felt honoured to be invited to open up Refuge’s Pride Weekend. We are proud of our inclusive entry policy and were glad to share in the love!

I loved the Refuge gig, great way to start my gay pride weekend, nice to see people stopping in the street to listen to us, lots of smiling faces, good atmosphere and love singing with my SHE sisters! ~ Karen

Just to prove we all get pre-show nerves from time to time, one SHEer described her experience of gigging:

I felt really proud to sing with She Choir last night  at a Manchester Pride event. The rehearsal was a bit dodgy! so I was a bit nervous but it seems the saying about a bad rehearsal leading to a good performance was true. It felt exhilarating to be singing some brilliant songs with wonderful women to the great people of Manchester. I felt safe in the hands of the conductors (conductrices?!) and they led us so well. I loved it and can’t wait for the next one.

Thank you to our lovely audience who came out to listen to us! You did well to squeeze in 🙂 If you were there leave us a comment and tell us what you thought!

Wishing you a wonderful Pride Weekend, SHE Choir Manchester

I was there and you sounded and looked great! Passers by were obviously knocked out. Very uplifting and fun contribution to a great Pride weekend.
